The Duchess of Amalfi clutch bag
The Duchess of Amalfi clutch bag
The work, composed with the usual multicolored technique, a hallmark of the artist, is a sketch on cardboard, created during the "Amalfi period". Mirkò, sensitive to the stories linked to the places of his coast, inaugurates his exclusive gallery in the Piazza del Duomo of Amalfi, drawing inspiration from the tragic story of Joan of Aragon, an unfortunate nobleman who lived between the end of the 1400s and the beginning of the 1500s Having arrived in Amalfi as a bride to a duke of the Piccolomini family, she soon became a widow, secretly remarrying one of his butlers. Her family, disapproving of the relationship, had her murdered together with her three children, after keeping her locked up in the Ziro tower, located on the hills of Amalfi.
